Day Six
Benzia Onum, Haginema V System
Before I could craft the battery and extra solar panel for my power grid setup, I needed some more materials. While farming I got this little surprise. Just about pooped my suit!
I got my power grid for the main base teleporter all set up. Two panels and a battery linked to the teleporter, with more than enough power to keep it running day and night for easy access to other locations.
I improved the structure of the base, making it a little bigger and adding some nice glass windows. There is a lot more to come on this site. I was lucky enough to get a nice paradise planet to call home and I am going to build a really cool base as I get more blueprints.
The next order of business was to fire up the signal beacon and access the first set of drop pod coordinates. The plan is to use all of them here on Benzia, even if it takes a while, since it is a resource rich world. I have everything I need to complete the upgrades for my suit readily available.
Its going to be a pretty long flight to reach the drop pod, and I am not opposed to exploring a bit along the way. My first discovery is this giant Gek obelisk site.
I liked this rock formation. Really neat looking.
Close call with a freighter jumping into my flight path!
I was wondering when I might find the big oceans that I've seen from orbit. What a view!
The sunrises on this world are really something. Beautiful!
After finding that HUGE base and claiming it for myself, I pushed on to the minor settlement without anymore stops, and picked up more drop pod data from the merchant there. I have quite a few of them to use with my signal beacon now. Should be able to add 3 more slots or so to my suit. I also have some distress signals to investigate, the planetary chart for the archeological sites, and I need to go hit up a copper deposit or two to top up on that material. Pretty much I like to keep a good supply of all the essential stuff, and then the next most important is the stuff for making and powering my teleporters. To keep it simple, I just farm the base material and use my portable refiner to make whatever else. It doesn't take much time and saves space!
