Day Nine

 Benzia Onum, Haginema V System, Euclid Galaxy

Crashed frigate, the MS Saijon-Juku's Visior. The logs make mention of a Korvax secret, of heading toward the 'center'...The center of the galaxy? Is that how these frigates got here? A gateway at the center of their galaxy that brought them here to mine?

Charting a course to the next system, Tilicae.

Tilicae System, Euclid Galaxy

My first view of the Tilicae system. Wow. That purple nebula backdrop is breathtaking.

I bring my ship around to follow the signal source and I'm greeting by this stunning view of Osal VIII. I love worlds with rings, but this one is really spectacular with the nebula behind it. WOW.

Osal is unfortunately not as beautiful on the surface. Very radioactive, but it does have a sort of harsh beauty.

The signal leads me to this towering monolith. Again something speaks to me, calling me Traveler and beckoning me to find them.

I have the choice to stay here and explore, or to make another jump. From orbit my scans indicate this uncharted world is a paradise planet, so I decide to have a look around.

Esbu, Tilicae System, Euclid Galaxy

Upon entering the atmosphere, I am immediately attacked by an unknown ship. Combat is not as easy in my shuttle, but I am able to drop its shields and destroy it with one rocket volley. The attack ends there. Taking my first real look around I see a pretty rainbow greeting me in the distance. I am also very fortunate to discover one of those huge colossus bases right away, so I set course for a landing pad and claim it for my base, complete with teleporter and solar panel. This planet for some reason reminds me of being in the mountains in California during the summer, on Earth. 

Walking back to my ship, I was startled to see this creature sticking out of the ground. I thought of 20k Leagues Under the Sea, looking at the huge tentacles waving and writhing above the ground. I'll have to watch out for these things when exploring on foot here.

My base computer archives have recovered more structure blueprints, so as soon as the sun came up and my new teleporter had power, I warped back to Benzia Onum to see what I might be able to build at my home base. It is nice to know that as long as I keep adding to my teleporter network, I can go back there for resources and to do work on my base there whenever I want with no cost to my ship fuel, and no travel time. However far I may roam, home is just a teleporter away...
