Day Five

Hayuw XIII, Haginema V System (Uncharted)

Heading to the first of the two unexplored planets in the system. I want to see what is there before I move on.

Hayuw XIII is a Magma planet, scorched and hot. Lots of scrubby burnt trees and mountains glowing with lava. I did find and catalogue an interesting tentacled creature. I also located a waypoint beacon during my short recon flight that pointed the way to a minor settlement. There, I was able to purchase my first drop pod data for use with my signal beacon. Suit upgrades here I come!

Suson 73/E9, Haginema V System (Uncharted)

Spectacular view from Suson's orbit. Wow. This is why I am out here.

View from Suson's surface. The rings are magnificent from down here. Lots of flying creatures in the skies. Suson is an Incandescent world, not volcanically active, but sun scorched instead, so another hot environment. I can move about outside without depleting hazard resistance if I do so at night after the surface has cooled.

I got a surprise when the ground began to shake beneath my feet. I tried to scan this creature numerous times with no success. I think of it as a giant flying sand worm. It didn't seem hostile, just BIG. Maybe on a future expedition I can find a way underground to try and locate and study it. Would LOVE to add this one to my discoveries!

Some ruins that I found.

A holographic comms tower. I found several of these as I flew to a settlement I located from a waypoint beacon. Great view after climbing my way to the top. I feel like this is supposed to do something that I haven't figured out yet.

Benzia Onum and Abhannis XVII as seen from the surface of Suson.

The minor settlement was a trade outpost. Lots of ships going in and out of here. I am considering returning later to build a base with a teleporter nearby for easy access. And of course so I can easily return to study the sand worms!

I found a crashed ship. It had a lot of storage, and I was tempted to add it to my collection, but it also needed a lot of repairs. Though I passed on acquiring and repairing it, I did investigate the cause of the crash and got the blueprint to construct a teleport receiver for my ship. Now I can send items back and forth from my ship over long distances!

Making another visit to the space station, I found a new ship that I could afford with a few more inventory slots, which I desperately need. I said goodbye to the Radiant Pillar...

...and traded it for the Reyaga CU1, a sturdy little shuttle with good shields. This is a good first step toward ultimately upgrading to a hauler of some kind.

The Reyaga back at my home base. I hope to build an actual landing pad here, if I can locate a blueprint. Patience. It will be nice to be able to take off without using launch thruster fuel.

It will be time soon to leave the Haginema V system. Before I go I have just a few chores: to add batteries to the power grid to keep my teleporter powered at night, and I am going to look for drop pods on Benzia Onum using the drop pod data I have acquired for my signal booster. I would like to upgrade my suit slots before setting off.
