Day Eight
Benzia Onum, Haginema V System, Euclid Galaxy
Got my hazmat gauntlet crafted and set out for the ancient ruin site from the planetary chart.
Another crashed frigate, the MS Ikoma. Base computer deployed for future visit.
Star brambles. Lots of these growing in clusters that I have spotted from the air. I can finally harvest these with the hazmat gauntlet. They aren't worth a ton, but a good amount and they don't cost any resources to harvest.
Another comms tower.
I came to think of the course I set to the ancient ruins as drop pod and crashed ship alley. I kept finding them as I tried to reach the ruins.
The first crashed frigate I've found that wasn't mostly underwater, the SV Motsu Soja III. I am curious about the hexagon covered world described in its log. I was able to access its cargo containers by blasting through doors and excavating with my multi tool. I was rewarded with antimatter and a fairly large sum of credits, though I was assaulted with large bursts of radiation each time I opened one and had to retreat to a safe distance quickly. It is safe to assume that the submerged frigates are similar to this one, with cargo containers I can access for loot.
Another waypoint beacon, pointing the way to a minor settlement. I wonder if it is the same one that I already found, or if it is a different one. For now I am focusing on reaching the ruins.
Another drop pod.
Another crashed frigate. I decided to save fuel and resources this time. I did not land and put down a base computer.
A third drop pod found, once again without the use of any of the drop pod data that I am carrying for my signal beacon. So grateful for the suit upgrades!
Another crashed frigate. The name of this one is unknown. What is becoming clear from the logs I have recovered is that these ships have come here from another galaxy, and they were severely damaged and crashed as a result. One log made specific mention that they were warned such a large ship could not survive the trip. It seems the warnings were correct.
Another comms tower.
After many stops for drop pods and crashed ships, I finally made it to the ancient ruins. I'm going to rest before excavating whatever treasures await me here. These coordinates came from the Celestial Archive, so my hopes are high that I will find something that will get me a lot of units, or at least something I can trade in at the archive for something more valuable. I can see there are several gravatino balls here, too.
A fun little extra...I was able to punch my coordinates into the Galactic Atlas and this is my location in the Euclid Galaxy, along with markers for many other discoveries in this same galaxy.
